It seems nice probably expensive as well, something that caught my eye but no my money, yet, it may make it to my would like to have list. I’m not sure yet. I haven’t played much guitar in quite awhile.

Seems nice. I like Source audio as much as I like preampy pedals. I’m done in that department though. :)

Looks cool. I think its functions are covered by pedals I already have. Is this their first analog pedal?

I thought I saw this was out and I love Source Audio pedals. I watched the link provided and another by Andy from Reverb, or in this case, his AndyDemos page. I read about the functionality to which perfectly describes what I hear in the demos.

Great for both rhythm and lean and cover a great deal of ground. It is certainly "a make everything sound better" pedal covering a great deal of ground per need. I think it tonally covers ground that I have in my other pedals but very happy to see this offered at a competitively priced $200.

A great pedal for both a gigging and non-gigging guitarist.

I received my pedal yesterday and gave it a whirl last night while practicing. My first impression is unfortunately not tremendously favorable.

To me, it sounds pretty much the same on every setting, with the JFET being slightly more harmonically rich than the others. The “cable length” toggle could be used maybe when switching guitars but otherwise you’d probably just set it and forget it.

It’s arguable that a one-knob boost is not the most useful pedal in the world and it turns out four of them in one box is not that useful either.

At the end of my practice session, I swapped it out for my usual boost (Union Tube & Transistor “More”) and I preferred it over any of the settings on the ZIO.

I wondered about that. It also helps me stay on track, keeping and eye out for an original day obtain in the old style box with a color I like. It will happen. I just hope it happens when I have the cash and before the prices climb. And also keep the c4 synth on the top of my someday list. And fluid drive and well more as it happens there always seems to be another to drool after!

I'm not surprised as I thought it sounded good but thought it offered more than in promise than I think any guitarist would sit and say "I need that". I think a more tone-shaping option is Super Phat Mod by Keeley, Blossom Point by Surfy Corp. (i have it and like it), or The Falcon by Crazy Tube Circuits. There are others of course as the marketplace isn't short of pedals to be sold.

Tnx for the report. I’m a bit surprised though. The differences between settings were very apparent to me listening to a YT vid on an iPhone, which is very unusual!
I did wonder about the usefulness of the “cable length” switch though. Seems very gimmicky.
Normally I’m a big fan of Source Audio(I have the Vertigo and Manta) and thinking about the EQ, but looks like I won’t be getting the Zio.

I will test it out directly into my audio interface and see if that makes a difference (rather than in front of a tube amp set to the edge of breakup).

Do you have a Mystery Brain or JrBarnyard/El Pescadoro? I would be curious how they interact.

@TV the Wired Turtle how does the fluid drive sound pushing the MB? Or two MB Tue Dyno thread has me seriously thinking about hear stacks.
