So I LOVE to eat! I’m also on a diet. It stinks. But I’m trying to get back to where my body looks best. I’ve lost 13lbs so far. 10 more to go I think. Basically I’m fasting each day until at least lunch, and then eating two low calorie meals. And it’s working.

ANYWAYS - what’s your fave comfort foods???

I swear I could rotate fried chicken with mashed potatoes n gravy, and spaghetti and meatballs every other meal for the rest of my life and be so very happy! Lol

Ribs, beef, chicken or basically any meats cooked with smoke and/or fire.
    Also, barbecue side dishes
Mac n’ Cheese, greens, beans, corn bread.

    But NOTHING with Mayo.
    You can keep that.

My parents are from Italy and we make our own tomato sauce in our basement. It’s a cool tradition and hopefully I can keep it going with my kids. I went to Culinary arts school and did that field for 10 years. All in all, my ultimate comfort food is Pizza hands down. Especially homemade with the homemade sauce!!

Here’s some homemade meatballs and sauce and some baked rigatoni.

There are many comfort foods for me, but I expect the top of the heap is my wife's BBQ meatloaf, mashed potatoes (and you can keep the gravy... give me butter or give me death!), and butter peas. No, not butterbeans... butter peas.

Washed down with southern iced tea.

I'm a pretty basic guy when it comes to foods. I worked in several different pizza restaurants growing up, so I still enjoy a good pizza, especially when I make it - Hawaiian tops my list, but I like a variety.

Now when it comes to comfort food, feeling stressed out will always cause me to reach for something sweet. Sometimes, it's just a little something, but if I'm super stressed, a bowl of ice cream (although I'm cutting down on that one), or a little candy treat are sure to come out. How much depends on my weight, because I try hard not to let that get out of control.

It’s gotta be Italian. Doesn’t matter what, pasta, veal, lasagna, it needs to have meat, tomatoes and possibly cheese. It also needs to be done correctly, preferably Mom or Grandma but my wife is getting there. There also needs to be crusty bread and pastries, cannoli, cookies, sfoliatelle. Too much of everything is just enough, I’m getting fat just thinking about it.

Of all the European ethnicities, the one that is quite distant is Italian, but I have had a lifetime love for Italian foods. My adolescence and early adult years were spent in the northern suburbs of Denver, which had a substantial Italian population, so great Italian restaurants were common and I had my choice between quite a number of great restaurants.

I currently live in the desert, and not in town, but one of the nearby towns is blessed to have one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve ever been visited.

A while back, I had some serious stresses affecting me and have to admit that I chose food for its comfort value. I have since repented and start my days with a high fiber cereal for breakfast. It’s definitely helped.

Just had it for dinner this evening:
Mrs MBKRI makes a fabulous dal and I cooked up a huge stack of fresh Roti Chappattis. A little mango chutney. Fabulous. I could eat southern Indian food forever and I’d be just happy as a clam. Especially if I got to go live in Southern India!
Actually come to think of it, last night’s Bison stew wasn’t too shabby either.
Mrs MBKRI is quite the cook.
