Help me out here with a sense of scale. It looks like it’s about 6 feet long and would be big enough for the whole von Trapp family to play at once!

For me it's my double anniversary that a bought from Nick off here, it is still to be played though as I still haven't got pick ups for it yet as I've had other things take priority funds wise, but will be a great day when some finally get installed.


Other then that I bought a pedal that JimmyR over on gretschpages built which is awesome but am yet to put it through it's paces yet, and a gig bag, so that's all my purchases this year.

She's about 30-40 yrs old . ...yes its sterilized . She's 24" in length . Still learning but best with other harp players . Usually there in the $2 grand range . Got her for $200 . Guy said it was his uncles who passed away years ago and he didn't want it taking up room in his attic anymore. Seller had no interest in it

Wow, I have aquired more guitars this year than any other since I started playing, but here goes-

Love Affairs:

• Gretsch G5230T in Cadillac Green- Really the guitar that re-inspired me after a very long break from playing. Modded a bit, but a great guitar.
• Fender American Ultra Telecaster in Texas Tea- Just never fails to make me smile. Bone stock and will stay that way.
• PRS SE Hollowbody II in Tri-Color Sunburst- Unexpected infatuation, since I've never bonded with another PRS. Stock for now.
• Traveler EG-2- Replaced pickups, pickguard, and electronics, but much more my style than my EG-1 Custom. A great travel guitar.
• Swart Atomic Space Tone- Beautiful, lush tremolo. Richer than any Fender I've experienced, without being muddy.

... I bought a few more along the way, but those are the ones that I have no intention of selling. If I were to pare my whole collection down to those 5 and my '85 MIJ '62 Telecaster Custom, I would be perfectly content. Very likely I will be doing just that in the near future.

Disappointments:

• Every Gibson I played this year- Poor craftsmanship, dead/muddy tones, and/or basic playability. I played a lot of them (around 50) in a lot of different stores, because I was determined to own a bound Les Paul or a ES-335/339. COVID pricing drove them up, but it really came down to what I was willing to accept for the price I was paying. When you're looking at Les Paul Custom prices, I'm just not willing to accept shoddy work. I bought a bankruptcy era (2018) Les Paul Classic Player Plus for a reasonable price, and while it has a minimum of issues, it also doesn't ring my bell and will be sold soon. I'd still love to find a ES-339 that rings my bell, but otherwise I've pretty much given up on Gibson. I bought and rebuilt a basket-case Korean Epiphone Les Paul Custom that is more resonant and playable than Gibsons that cost 20 times as much. I paid little for it, dumped a bunch of parts into it, and it still is worth nothing, but it consistently punches above its weight. I really, really wanted a Gibson, but guess I'm not a Gibson guy. Maybe one day I'll find that special one (like the PRS SE) that speaks to me.
