I'm wanting to make adapter posts that thread into the hardtail post holes of a non-Bigsby guitar to attach a customized Biggsfix to.
The idea it to have a BricksBiggsfix Tuning Stabilizer mounted in the hardtail holes in conjunction with a B3 or B6. This would be similar to the Towner Downer, but utilizing the sealed bearing roller raised stabilizer. I know that the most common solution is to mount the B7 or B70 and put the "custom" plaque over the unused holes. Anyone want to try this?

    That is a GREAT idea!
Wish I had a guitar to try this on.

    I whipped up a prototype.
Now I either have to get my hands on an ES335 plus a B6 or a Les Paul plus a B3 Hardtail Adapters Custom Shop.jpg

Okay, not a big deal, because you only set it once, but that post requires the height adjustment to be made with the tension roller bar removed. And you can only set it within a half turn adjustment. Could you design a bracket for the bar that allows the post height to be adjusted continuously and while the tension bar is in place? Just an idea to think about, but not a deal breaker, looks like a great idea.

Yea, you'd have to put it on and off a couple of times to get the height set just right.

Looks great! I'd be happy to give it a try if I had a guitar that needed one.

One thought: could you attach each end of the roller to a shaft collar like the one pictured below, and then mount the unit to the guitar using standard tailpiece studs inserted through the shaft collars? That would allow for on-the-fly adjustments.

A hardtail Gretsch would work too. Why not treat yourself to a 5220 and a V-cut B3?

Dude! I was thinking the same thing. I couldn't remember what that part is called. I saw a 2 piece post on ebay that would accept something like that.

I just ordered 10 “shaft collars” to see if I can work in some adjustability. Now I just need to pull the trigger on the 5220

Too bad : my G5220LH don't need one, since I reworked the B3LH chassis to obtain directly a satsfactory break angle (7-8°)...

But yes : that's a good idea, as an alternative to the Towner bar.

    A+!

Well, $299.99 got me this G5435 on Ebay, so we'll see how it goes. I also bought a B30 (I've never actually seen one with my own eyes) I've always wondered what the Black Tops sounded like.

Gorgeous! I've never seen a blonde Jet before. Looking forward to seeing how the experiment turns out.
