Best "knock knock" joke ever.
Most Hot Rods will do the trick.
When you are on stage with many other guitar players, an orange Gretsch stands out among the rest. You know what it is. Mr. Gretsch sure knew what he was doing when he selected that
western color. Understand Chet did not like it at first.
Because Orange is a happy color that makes you smile!
It's just a great color. Just like someone one day did sea foam green and said, "voila!"
Looks great on cars, too!
Do you realize what you have? Good lord, curly maple AND orange, this is a Boomer/GenX dream!!
And then you go heard cattle for a few days and the illusion is completely shattered! I wonder if the orange color was just an accident caused by the stain or finish someone grabbed and used.
Just wait for the orange sparkle hotrod to hit the market! I actually wish they would do those finishes on some other models. I happen to like the extra controls on the other models.
cause if you don't like orange you like apple? i like whisky on a friday night
Orange Sparkle would be killer! Candy Tangerine was close. Not too bad of a DIY mod but I hear you on expanding to other models.
Yep, I realize it, and so did my wallet when I bought it. Lol
My dream guitar finally mine!
The orange G6120 is now part of the collective subconscious. People immediately recognize what it is and know what to expect
Add my name to the list of those who love the orange. It's just a great color and (as I've mentioned here many times) I love the stains and finishes that allow the wood grain to show through.
I've started a fund to buy an orange-stain Gretsch someday.
Question: is the orange color such a Gretsch icon that the other companies avoid it?
At this moment I can't remember ever seeing any other orange.
Edit: and I spoke too soon. Epiphone makes their Emperor Swingster in Orange, how dare they? Actually, the sincerest form of flattery.
And it may be an opaque finish, I don't see any grain in the pics.

Beautiful! But they aren't showing the G5420 and G5422.
Now that makes sense. One of those horses had the G brand too I suspect.
Gretsch seem to be steering away from the Orange in most of the newer Asian lines.
Perhaps keeping it for the more traditional offerings at the top of the range?
Orange is the right colour for a G6120 just like white is the right colour for a Falcon. -- but orange doesn't look right on a Jet to me
Looks pretty darned good on those G6130's IMO. Which is a Jet after all.
