I bought mine in June of 2013 when I was actually looking for a 335. I checked everywhere in Canada for a Panther and nobody had one. Long & McQuade didn’t have one and none on order. I checked with Gretsch/Fender and was told they didn’t think any had been shipped to Canada. I eventually found one at Elderly Instruments in Michigan. I wanted a white one and the ONE they had was black. After 10 minutes of playing it at Elderly I bought it. It cost me a lot since I had currency exchange as well as import taxes coming back to Canada to pay as well. All of that said, I’ve never regretted the purchase. The Panther is the only guitar I have owned that gets to share significant stage time with my old 355. They are fabulous instruments and the best 335 I’ve ever played.
