April was a weird month for me and my wallet. Just about every bit of gear I had been stalking for a few years showed up at once. I blew my budget for this year and next.

Now some well meaning soul in Reverb has to go and offer me one of the Gibson Flying V’s I’ve been watching for a crazy low price.

I probably need a V like a hole in the head but it’s one of the few left on the wish list…so tempting.

No new guitars til 2025🥹

Anyone else seeing some crazy great deals come their way recently?

Yeah, like 4. And I was not supposed to buy anything in 2023. 🤔

I don't need a thing and don't play a lot of what I have. I'm thinking of selling most of my tube amps (50w peavey classic, Fender hot rod) because I rarely get together with others and jam any more.. I mostly just play one of two solid state amps I have with one of my multi effects peddles and that's it. (I'm keeping my Budda Super Drive 18 tube head)

I've also sold/traded some lower end guitars that I had and never played. I don't need any more. Having said all of that, if the right used Gibson 335 or Heritage 535 showed up on my radar I would probably pull out the plastic..

Well I thought I was done with buying guitars then I see a very nice ES 135 on EBay for a steal. Did the back and forth with the guy selling it but thankfully someone stole it from under my nose. I don’t need any more guitars, even insanely well priced ones….but if a Gibson ES 330 in Beale St Blue came up……

You’d definitely have to outbid me for it

BR,

Nothing this year.

It's diving season again, and I haven't been in the water, since my wife suffered a stroke in 2021.

Her remarkable recovery has allowed me to get back in the water this year. Down to 105 ft yesterday, cold at the bottom, only 9 degrees above freezing...just wonderful!

I won't look at the guitars again until probably November.

I do have two mod projects ready to go, but not now.

At this point, I highly doubt there will be any NGD's in 2023.

Rebreather this Sunday, I can hardly wait!!

Best,

BIB.

I decided to have a very special motorbike when entering retirement in January 2024. At this point I will have the means to buy one. Since about 14 years I am planning on the exact spects.
I watched a custom motorbike on ebay-classifieds that the owner offered there since november 2022. It was the perfect machine in every aspect. Even the colour was great.
So I daydreamed for months about riding this bike and checked ebay-classifieds daily whether it was still there. I even contacted the seller and asked him to keep my telephonenumber in case he would not have sold it until january 2024.
Of course it was very irrational/optimistic to hope that it would not be sold until 2024.
Last week he notified me that it is gone.
I felt really, really sad about it.

They are incredible guitars and you will love it. There was a time when I was V-less. It was unbearable.

Congrats on the Offsets. Squier has been knocking them out of the park lately. If the trems give you any grief, there’s an easy fix. Keep us posted.
you know, the stock vibrato on the jm is actually not terrible. arm sits in nice, it does the thing, and the tuning stability is acceptable. quite a surprise.

probably will still replace both of them with mastery units (or a FUNCTIONAL avri unit) at some point, but happily gliding for now.
