There was a bit of discussion in another thread but I think it deserves its own. Who would you like to see Gretsch honor with a signature model? You can even speculate on what the features it might have.

    Some ideas:

Cliff Gallup (someone reported this might be in the works)

    Darrel Higham

    Paul Pigat

    Poison Ivy

    KT Tunstall

    Nope
Is there a Neil Young Falcon? I can't find one with a google search other than a Falcon literally signed by Neil Young. I suppose he's enough anti establishment he may scoff at the very idea.

Maybe I don't have imagination, but I just want to see those new Brian Setzer sparkle hot rod's (I hope there are more than one sparkle) with Brian Setzer signature TV Jones pickups.

Interestingly, Eastwood gives you the opportunity. Gretsch should do this.

Yep. And Pete Townshend, as well.
Chris Collingswood and Jody Porter from Fountains of Wayne would be good candidates. Porter doesn't play them near as often as Collingswood, but he does play them.

    Synchro Signature Model

Ok, I humbly nominate myself for the next Gretsch Signature Model.

It would be based upon the 6120 DC, but not just any 6120 DC. I've owned two, and still have the first of those two, an '05 model, made by Dyna Gakki. It weighs less than seven pounds, about a pound less than the Terada made 2013 model of 6120 DC I owned.

The Synchro Signature model would be a DC built to match the weight of the Dyna Gakki model and would have flame maple with a transparent burgundy finish, similar to that used on the standard G 6122-1959. Optionally I would permit an amber transparent, a black transparent (because my beloved DC is black) and possible a dark orange transparent finish. The pickups would probably be Setzer signatures. There would be no mute and would have the reduced control set of a Setzer Hot Rod with a master volume and pickup selector only. Lacking the mute, there would be no need for the access panel in the back of the guitar or the back-pad to cover that panel. I might entertain the idea of trestle bracing to boost the highs.

Of course it's not likely to happen. They'd have to build a fleet of container ships to meet the demand and Terada would have to expand operations exponentially. :)

Another vote for Neal Young. I don't know if he's had anything do with Gretsches, but he's done the coolest music video on this planet ;) and I'm quite serious about this. Neil's the man!

Edit: Yep, he's a Gretsch Man!

I'm perfectly fine with a stereo White Falcon (a la' Neil Young) being released without it being designated as a signature model.

I posted this in the other thread, but this guitar is so cool, it deserves some more love.

That certainly strikes me as being innovative. I'd probably prefer it with
a Ciuntry Club headstock, but that's just my conservative tastes.

I can't tell in that pic if he still has the Bigsby bridge on it. It came with a Tru-Arc but he was breaking strings with it. Said he was going to file the Tru-Arc
