Oh No, I'm looking for opinions again! So here's my dilemma. I want to build one more strongly Gretsch-inspired guitar. The parts that I have so far are one unused 3-ply top/back set. A set of chrome HS filtertrons and one pre fender neck filtertron and one TV Jones neck Magnatron. I would like to know what I should turn this pile of parts into.

The short list that I am considering is:
    1. A Falcon (white, black, green, Orange stain?)
    2. Country club
    3. double cut Country Gent
    4. Natural 6120

Whatever, it turns out to be, the hardware will be chrome because I don't want to pay for gold! Of course I could always trade for some.

What do you guys think? If you have any other Ideas, feel free to let me know. I just might like one of them.

The remaining pair of pickups, I think I will put into a solidbody. Either a jet looking thing or maybe a Billy-Bo. Who knows, that's a while down the road yet.

    Thanks in advance!

Double cut Falcon in natural and of course without the cheesy back pad.

Two votes for a natural Falcon and 4 from rebel for a country gent. Thinline? What hardware would you like to see? Looks like it's going to be a 17" body.

Double-cut. Either Falcon or CG. I find the non-double cut guitars to be non-pleasing to my eyes. I like the symmetry of a double-cut.

And put in 3 sets of pickups. One TV, one pre-fender, one HS. With separate vol knobs for each pup.

Yeah gotta be a thin line - gold hardware would be nice - but pricey!

I've thought for quite some time now how cool a copper mist coloured country gent would be!!!!!!!

I'm really leaning toward a double cut. I think they're cool. 3 different types of pu's would be cool, but I wouldn't use the middle one. I'm liking the independent volumes though. Copper mist? Maybe. Depends how nice it looks in natural.

Rooster, when I win the lottery, it'll be new guitars for everyone!

So how about wiring and tuners. Bigsby or cadillac tailpiece? As well as binding color, etc. Tell me what would be your ideal Gretsch! This is the last set of brooklyn factory plates that I can forsee having so I want to make it as cool as possible.

If I had the luthier skills the one thing I have always wanted was a semi-hollowbody, thinline with the classic Gretsch singlecut outline and the Gretsch master volume / tone control electronics package.

I am replacing a neck on that DC Falcon that was missing one (a few months back). I got a little bogged down in other projects. I also have to bend some plywood for it. It's a tricky one.

Ok, so here's what I'm leaning towards. Double cut, thinline, real f-holes, natural finish, chrome hardware (filters, space control bridge), and tone pot wiring. I'd like to put a Bigsby on it with locking tuners, unless I can find a cadillac tailpiece in chrome. If I do I'll put imperial tuners on it.

Any other suggestions from my favorite peanut gallery? How about the headstock? Would you like to see the gent or the falcon headstock? Zero fret or no? Black, white, black binding?

I think the gent headstock would suit this one best, imo. Not too sure how the BWB binding would look with a natural finish, but it could be quite interesting.

I'm already itching to see how it turns out. :D
