Added the Z-Glide 0 fret
I thought I'd try a GFS gold foil pickup in the neck position. I can't make it work. Pretty sure it's me. I suspect it would sound cool in combo with the bridge broadtron...but I ain't gonna know if I can't make it work. Stay tuned.
A friend made a "G" out of 4mm thick steel, burned in a G in my streamliner
Curious, did the heat cause the body checking or was it like that before?
It was like that before, i reliced it a long time ago.
Did a couple of mods on my 2429 tonight. I installed a Bigsby and did the pickup mod removing half the pole pieces. I’m sorry the pics suck, I’ll try to get better ones later.
Very cool! What pickups are those if you don't mind me asking?
They are dearmond "moustache" from a 1960 harmony rocket.
Thanks to all the information on this forum; I added a z-glide and roller bridge today. Wow what a difference. Seriously night and day.
I stripped off the paint on the back of the pickguard i previously added.
I've got a TUSQ nut waiting for my next string change. But these Thomastik strings last forever!
The zero glide made a big difference to my 2420, highly recommended.
How do you like that pickup mod? Thinking of doing that myself today.
I like it a lot. Seemed to jangle it up quite a bit and removed some of the fat PAF sound.
I'll second that mod. I did it just on the neck pickup and really brightened it up.
I screwed up by ordering an ABM 2400 from overseas. It disappeared into the abyss of Customs several weeks ago.
When I saw one for sale in this country, I snapped it up. Whichever one gets here first will go on the Streamliner. The other will go on something else.
Very nice Forgive my colorblindness, it that a walnut finish?
Candy apple red actually, glad you like it!
I just put the roller bridge on. It’s slightly annoying that the upper end of the stock mounting posts are threaded, but oh well. The rollers work great!
