Man, does that one bring back memories!.....I didn't live anywhere near NYC, and we didn't get cable until the mid-late 70's, if I remember right......but, as soon as I found that channel, it became an absolute favorite.....it's where I discovered The Odd Couple, The Honeymooners, Abbott and Costello (watched the weekly Sunday Abbott and Costello movies religiously for years!) and so many others.....and of course, what kid my age could forget the PIX video game during the cartoon segment every day (A mattel Intellivision and and likely an overworked, underpaid Master Control Operator having to hit the fire button every time a kid yelled ...PIXPIXPIXPIXPIXPIXPIXPIX....lol....later when I WAS a Master Control Operator, I felt his pain ;-) ) I can honestly say WPIX was a BIG part of my childhood.

My grandparents late Saturday night diversion was watching Fritz Von Eric "wrastlin" on TV from the Sportatorium in Dallas.

I remember the days of Gorgeous George and Dick the Bruiser. Never was a wrestling fan. Guy I worked with would go to the matches every Friday night, then race home to watch 'em on TV. I guess things might have changed in that hour. We'd watch Roller Derby as well. Craziness. Best thing about Friday late night TV were the monster movies. Seems like every town had their own scary host guy. We had Svengoolie, Indy had Sammy Terry.

Sportatorium! Love the name. Like the junior high's gymatorium.

As I recall, the Sportatorium was the same venue where Herb Kelleher arm wrestled the CEO of another company for the ticker symbol LUV he wanted for Southwest Airlines.

I visited friends in Canada a few years ago and brought my Apple TV. I was surprised to find that the content was completely different even though it was my unit and me logged in.

They did again a couple of years ago. I highly recommend it.

The episodes are great, and Jordan Peele's hosting has lots of subtle nods to Rod Serling, like holding a cocktail as a replacement for a cigarette, and wearing a Hamilton Ventura wrist watch.

Just checking back in here at the forum after a week or so away and this one has taken on a life of it's own. Kinda of like one of my kids.

    The irony.

Not had a tv for 30 years. Seems like things haven't changed much in that time.

Yes the old ZOOM show out of Boston. Think it was WSBK.
A long time ago. I remember my Sister running around the house with the zoom talk. God, I wanted to punch her ...

They did, hosted by Jordan Peele, and I watched the first episode which they have free on youtube (they premiered it there, to get people excited, it has since been removed). But now it is only available on (drumroll please)... Paramount Plus! Because we needed another one. Originally on CBS Plus but that died and they migrated to the Paramount platform. The episode was cool, much more horror-y than the original (which I watched on Netflix) but there is not way on this planet I will get "Paramount Plus" for it.

Yeah, how was the rest of the series? It looked really good! But, again, I don't have "Paramount Plus" or the now departed CBS Plus.

Absolutely! Hated to be paired up with the old fart.
If it wasn't for Lucy and Desi, we never would've gotten Star Trek.
She was the real brains behind all of it.
Lucy had a period where she'd pick up AM radio thru her dental fillings.

I thought it was great. A little higher wattage than the original, but that's fine by me.
