I was born in 63. We also got WPIX on our TV as well. That video brought back a lot of memories

I don't bother with OTA or cable TV these days, streaming services always pick up the good stuff and I get to watch when I want, commercial-free.

  11. If you saw WPIX, did you ever watch Uncle Floyd on UHF 68?

Oh I grew up in a very Italian household. We would have lost our "FreddyFingers" if we ever touched the antenna Rotator (Remember those? )

Boy this one ran off the rails. Did anybody see the post at the top? There’s a whole 4 year old in the middle of the screen. I can’t watch TV for more than 5 minutes without one of my kids planting themselves, mouth agape (I’m sure), perfectly centered in my view. Never blocking a right or left third. Always dead center and I’m not even straight on to the TV. I gave up asking, yelling and throwing stuff a long time ago. The last stage was turning my head to the side, like that would help, now I just continue to watch with no reaction like they were some kind of cataract with legs.

YoDaddy it looks to me like raising the TV abut a foot would fix most of that problem for now...

I'm amazed by the people who don't have a TV at all, especially since I've been home alone for almost a year. My TV is the window into what is happening in the real world outside my apartment.

I'm a boomer who was in the first generation to grow up with eyes glued to the boob tube.

But I refuse to pay anything for TV content and only use a $10 indoor antenna. Since I live in a big city with 60+ channels (many in 1080) that is all I need.

The local news was making me paranoid/crazy with random shootings and drug busts and robberies and beatings so I quit watching it.
I've got a more worldwide focus now so love the news on PBS. BBC, Amanpour and the News Hour give me all I need with an international slant that helps keep things in perspective. Contrary to popular local belief, we here in the US are not the only important people on this planet, LOL!!

I haven't found any regular series that I care about either. No current Star Treks or MASHs or BBTs that hooked me but I am addicted to Masterpiece on PBS. I have a real fascination for life in Britain (my ancestry is British) and love almost everything Masterpiece produces. Very high quality writing, acting and often award-winning. Nothing like the commercial American crap.
Downton Abbey and Sherlock are two of my older favorites but I like just about all they make. Last night was the final episode of the first season of All Creatures Big and Small and I'm bummed it will be a year before another.

YaDaddy the next time junior inserts himself just turn off the tv. When he turns to complain (he will) tell him to sit. Repeat as needed.;)
