What are you stocking up, if anything?

I've been stocking ammo and long-term emergency supplies since way before the pandemic. I'm not a pure-blooded prepper, but I do have an ant vs. grasshopper mentality.
Always have.
Oh man I am doing that too but forgot to post that. I actually was stocking up on ammo before this COVID thing hit and when ammo became scarce and expensive. I have a lot and alot. I got the idea because some young man working at Big 5 at the gun counter about 5 years ago said his dad did that so I figure that may be a good idea.

Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Also, we are a multi-caliber family, and since I live in one of the "free states" (with respect to ownership of mechanical downrange projectile throwers) I'm fairly flush in about 9 or 10 different calibers.

In terms of long-term food/water supply, I could go approximately 3 months without foraging, but long-term I'm trying to reach a 6-month goal.

I’ve got some GC points to use, so I’ll probably stock up on strings. Maybe buy some non-perishable food items before prices go up.

You?
I quit stocking up on strings when I found that they got rusty even while in their packages. :(

American Airlines miles. I’m flying again but let my Admirals’ Club membership lapse during the world wide sick out. I had a delayed flight back from LAX and needed someplace to kick back with my wife. There was a credit card inducement in the lounge and the miles bank was drawn down. So I got a new card with 60,000 bonus miles if I can spend 6K in three months. I got a card for my wife too so we’ll definitely have miles for the front of the jet one way for our next vacation. Maybe we won’t come home.

I buy tubes I don't really need ,when I find them for a good deal, even though I have more than enough to last me the rest of my life, still need some 6973s though, but I ain't paying $75.00 for a used one.
The 6CZ5 is a good substitute for 6973, just need to run a single jumper wire on amps that don’t already have it.

Since Baltic birch plywood comes primarily from Ukraine, I stocked up a few sheets as the supply started to dwindle at my hardwood supplier. I completely missed the Russian vacuum tube sell-out. Glad I had a good stash of old USA/European tubes.

Not disputing what you say, but I find it interesting, in that Ukraine is not even located on the Baltic. I know Baltic Birch is not specific species, but I thought most of it came from Finland, Russia, Estonia and Latvia. Learn something new every day.

I think you’re right, but the Russian connection might explain the apparent short supply.

Seeds I have a nice variety of vegetable seeds. Need some books on how to use seeds from harvested veggies to grow more. Some are easy but some just never seem to work. If you can grow food you’re a step ahead.

Experimenting with hydroponics this summer in my basement.
