I’ve got some GC points to use, so I’ll probably stock up on strings. Maybe buy some non-perishable food items before prices go up.

Oh man I am doing that too but forgot to post that. I actually was stocking up on ammo before this COVID thing hit and when ammo became scarce and expensive. I have a lot and alot. I got the idea because some young man working at Big 5 at the gun counter about 5 years ago said his dad did that so I figure that may be a good idea.I've been stocking ammo and long-term emergency supplies since way before the pandemic. I'm not a pure-blooded prepper, but I do have an ant vs. grasshopper mentality.
Always have.

I quit stocking up on strings when I found that they got rusty even while in their packages.I’ve got some GC points to use, so I’ll probably stock up on strings. Maybe buy some non-perishable food items before prices go up.

The 6CZ5 is a good substitute for 6973, just need to run a single jumper wire on amps that don’t already have it.I buy tubes I don't really need ,when I find them for a good deal, even though I have more than enough to last me the rest of my life, still need some 6973s though, but I ain't paying $75.00 for a used one.
Since Baltic birch plywood comes primarily from Ukraine, I stocked up a few sheets as the supply started to dwindle at my hardwood supplier. I completely missed the Russian vacuum tube sell-out. Glad I had a good stash of old USA/European tubes.
I think you’re right, but the Russian connection might explain the apparent short supply. Not disputing what you say, but I find it interesting, in that Ukraine is not even located on the Baltic. I know Baltic Birch is not specific species, but I thought most of it came from Finland, Russia, Estonia and Latvia. Learn something new every day.
