I noticed a shop was offering new and used Electromatics. They put a disclaimer saying the used ones don't come with accessories. I almost never buy new guitars so I've never gotten any free accessories before. What accessories come with new Electromatics?

Believe it or not, I actually got a genuine Gretsch case with my used 5220. Couldn't believe it, as it normally doesn't come with a case even when bought new...so I wouldn't be too disappointed if you didn't get a case as an accessory.

If it's got a Bigsby, an alternative sized spring, plus a truss rod key.

Sorry for the rant @SummertimeBlues , it is my biggest pet-peeve . Every guitar should come with a case and a jack plate IMO :)

All I got with my new 5230T was an allan key and the two paper cards, nothing else.

The sales rep got back to me and said the only accessory that would have came with it was an Allen key.

    STB,

I have two, one less than a year old, one 15/16 years old.

Combination Inspection checklist/warranty card on a string were all I got. In the photo, see the blue card with the string attached.

Lots of documentation with the professional models, including adjustment tools, not so much with the Electromatics.

Once the shops open the shipping box, and puts the guitar on display, case candy, like all candy, disappears pretty quick.

One of the benefits of buying from the large retailers...nothing nicer than a sealed box, opened only for quality control inspection, and immediately re-sealed.

Photo shows paper package/tools that came with my G6131-MY. Down the road, this package is sometimes as valuable as the guitar.

    Best,

    BIB.

Yeah, no...For my money I got a G5420T and an allen key. I had to download the owners manual from the internet. But hey, its a real nice guitar.

Imo Not having case candy is a great basis to bargain down the price, especially if, like me, you don't care that much. It affects resale value, so it should affect purchase value.

My 5120 didn't come with anything. My Pro Jet was special ordered, I was the first person into the box and it also didn't come with anything.

You also get that clear plastic stuff on the pick guard. Some say it affects the tone of the instrument....
    JUST KIDDING!

I bought three brand new Gretsches.
No case, no Allen wrenches, no jack plate.
I didn't even get the paper hang tags/case candy.
