Just put all the strings on the posts, then grab an eraser and stick it underneath the ball ends of the strings. It helps keep them from falling off.

It's helpful to hear all your responses. Honestly, I didn't even know it was supposed to be some kind of caddy tribute. Knowing that, somehow helps a little. I try to be open minded. I've got a BFA and at one time was really serious about form/function...and all that art sh!tzola mentality. I do know the original "players editions" did not have the "V" stoptails. I first noticed them on the streamliners, then I was surprised when they infested the other models, hahaha. But que sera sera. I'll just flow with it.

Sometimes familiarity breeds contempt, sometimes it leads to acceptance.

Yeah, I've had a 6120 and 6128 and that is exactly the way to do it. I'm a Tele man at heart and the G5220 sorta sits in there nicely.
I don't use the trem on any guitars.

    I dislike them :p

I’d rather they have a regular stop bar or a Cadillac tailpiece.

I don`t like a guitar grinning at me.

That v-tailpiece would be a deal-breaker for me.

I don't see what the big deal is.....just put a bend at the ball end and use a capo to hold them on.

I don’t care for the V, either. Seems forced. I can see trying an alternative to the straight bar, but that one misses the mark for me.

I'm a big fan. Put one on a build I did with Englishman and plan another. Original and classy if you want a TOM-hardtail combo.
