I think GFS has some very affordable and cool sounding filters....

Pickup bevels finally arrived so its all finished :) the gotoh Bridge also made a big difference to the intonation and it seems to play much better now IMG_20200213_124317.jpg IMG_20200213_124527.jpg

It's getting them in the UK mate, GFS do some great stuff but shipping and tax to the UK makes it pretty expensive. The ones I have probably came from the same factory

UK Filtertrons, I've just ordered a set of these which are a decent price https://www.fletcherpickups.co.uk/filtertrons I will only have my G2420 Broadtrons to compare to so we'll see.

It's looking really good, keep going!

this thread has really whetted my appetite for a 5120 project, in fact just had a look on evil bay and am tempted but must wait a little longer but will deffo get one in a while as am currently clearing a space in back yard to build man cave/guitar workshop and need cash for that project.

The price of those Fletcher pickups is about the same as Gretsch HS filtertrons. 15816170244411240668299066965251.jpg

Yep I'd looked into a lot of options and nearly bought the HS Filtertrons and very nearly a set of blacktops for £59 for a pair on UK ebay but I thought I'd try something different and support a small UK business in the process.

That is a very laudable attitude. How do they compare to the real deal?

I'm on a waiting list so won't have the pickups for a few weeks. My only Gretsch is the G2420 so no direct comparison to be had other than past experience trying out a few other Gretsch's down the guitar shop and youtube!
