    The theme song from Star Trek: Enterprise

    It was actually a really good show that was cut off just as it was achieving greatness....

    if this horrible theme can be excused.

    The song wasn't dumb, but Lawrence Welk singers doing a cover of Brewer & Shipley's "One Toke Over The Line" was unintentionally hilarious. The only possible reason that they covered it was the line "Sweet Jesus"; other than that, they were clueless.

    Either tose kids put one over on Lawrence, or they all put one over on the network's censors. "Modern spiritual" indeed!

    No, I truly believe Larry and the singers were clueless as to the song's real meaning. The censors probably never worried about Welk and his show, so it got overlooked. Weird connection---I saw Brewer & Shipley playing in Topeka KS around 1970. They were from the east side of Kansas City MO, in Raytown, They were on a flatbed semi trailer that was being used as a stage, in a parking lot. It was a benefit gig for a local Bahai church group (they were Bahias from what I understood).
