Would anyone like to trade their Fluid Drive/ DC Casket for my Minty Turquoise Ubangi???
Or sale price is that of FD/DC…
Unfortunately I just can’t find a use for it..

Wats your reason for sale? I feel the Ubangi is a fine effect and works exactly like intended but my ear these days says it’s just not a good fit for my drive tone. Stacking my old Dyno in front of the MB creates an awesome selection of Growl from mellow to Max… searching for a tone that can be used as “my sound” was from TVega as he dissected Setzers tone. The Ignition album does it for me. Unfortunately only a tickle of the Ubangi is all I can use..
I stumbled on to

@GlenP What am I missing?
Could you elaborate… hinting that it achieves David Gilmore Vibe? Very cool.. but not my Shtick….
I’m aware of the Ubangi’s origin of creation.
I also have Barn Jr….. again VERY cool peddle but nothing I can use as an “always on” tone shaper..
Also got,
Tube screamer
MXR D+
MXR ZAKK OD
that I can’t make use of….

Lots of info on Gilmour here to keep a tone chaser busy:

You might really like the Fluid Drive, it is very adjustable to get that always on sound you are looking for. Good luck with the sale/trade.

The Ubangi, being somewhat inspired by the RAT, can also do a lot mour.

Gil-mour. :)

A Rat is Nuno Bettencourt’s secret weapon pedal. He keeps the gain on zero though, using it more as an EQ.
I’m not a Rat guy(of course I do have one or two) but lots of guys claim it stacks well with other pedals, Bluesbreaker et al.

It’s a great pedal. I have an older version (that I swear has some extra super secret mojo) which has become integral to my sound, along with a Marquesan on a separate board. The Marquesan does have a little extra flexibility compared to the Ubangi. The Ubangi is amazing at low/ medium gain and somehow manages to sidestep the trashiness associated with Rat pedals. All of that gushing aside, if it doesn’t do it for you, it just doesn’t do it for you. I don’t get along well with TS pedals for whatever reason.
We’ve all got our own thing in our heads with respect to what we “should” sound like.
