Two colours of Tolex

    So I'm considering reupholstering a cab. While there's lots of good info on YouTube showing how to do corners etc, there's nothing I can find on a two tone job.

    I'm considering one colour for the bottom 3/4 of the cab, and another colour for the top 1/4. How do I treat the boundary of those two colours?

    Any words of wisdom will be appreciated!

    The piping is cylindrical. The groves can be made with a table saw or a router. The tolex meets beneath the piping and the piping is pushed into the groove, The ends of the piping are fastened to the cabinet by each end and stretched to maintain tension to keep it in the groove.

    You dont think I tolex my own cabs? I gift wrap packages like a one armed, one eyed pirate :) I've tolexed about 10 cabs in my lifetime and hated every living second of it, I have a cab guy.

    Yes, that would be sides one color, top and bottom another color

    I've been doing tolex since the early 70's

    You guys are gonna make me rip the tolex off the fender tone master twin . I wasn’t going to to do anything with it, but now the gas for color has formed. Thanks a lot.

    Mine is a Mesa F50. Currently black tolex, black grill cloth, blackface chassis with black knobs. I think it needs a new suit. :)

    Good luck. I watched the Mesa dudes tolex, it was very impressive, all free hand measuring and cutting and shockingly fast.

    That's ok. I'll plod along at my own glacial pace... I'm not contemplating a career change. :). Actually I saw that on YouTube (Petaluma is quite a drive for me) and yes they were super quick!
