8D5A2319-6F12-4AB1-91A0-94CB6931A1A6.jpeg A mid-90s James Burton signature Tele SIGNED by doggone James Burton and JERRY LEE “Flippin” LEWIS?!?

Had to have it. Just got it back from being clear coated(to protect the signatures so I can use the guitar!). Installed a new ashtray bridge, pickguard, and matching Strap. I think this is the easiest playing Tele I’ve ever owned, and I’ve owned a bunch. What an incredible neck on this guitar.

Behold in all her beauty - the Twang Cat!!

Oh dear...now how am I going to sleep tonight???
The strap and PG are really cool. Personally not much for sigs on a guitar, but where they are located, and with that subtle aging/fade, on a blonde, it is really nice!
My wife frowns on leopard, but over the past 10 years I've been leaning towards it somewhere on a guitar.

Nice! And some sweet aging to the color if the picture tells the truth.

I think I'd have to get rid of the spots. They lead the eye away from the signatures.

Congratulations, that's a genuine piece of American history.
Any clue about the circumstances in which they both signed the guitar?

Apparently Jerry Lee was coming through Texas in the mid/late 90s and had James Burton playing guitar with him. The signing happened at a local music store and then the guitar was raffled off. The guy I bought it from has had it in his closet a long time. The aging is real, and the guitar is immaculate(though not for long!)! ;)

Although I like lots of guitars and compliment them... that one really is one of the coolest. I love how you cleared it and are going to actually play it too. Maybe it’s just me, think about how James is only one person away from knowing the King and the great stuff they recorded together. Twang Cat could almost be called Kings Cat. The leopard pickguard is so appropriate with Jerry Lee’s sig too... goodness gracious, great balls of fire!
