Steve at Trinity Amps has been keeping me updated.
Waiting for the glue to cure before they lacquer the cab then it will be shipped.:)

Really looking forward to putting this together. I'm going to keep it spec. with a VRM (Voltage Regulation Module) added on and a Chicago Blue Tone Tubby speaker.

I'm trying to resist the urge to start at it tonight. I'd probably end up sitting there all night. I'll suffice going through the instructions for now.:)

Very cool Rob! I threw around the idea of a kit build after selling and missing my EC vibro champ, but changed my mind and settled on a cheap Gretsch 5222 for $150 used. Love to hear yours when its complete, have fun!

That should be fun and very satisfying to build.

I expect it will also sound great, too! :)

Awesome! I've been dying for a tweed amp.

I went and tested a few 5e3's and decided I needed a touch more oomph. I've been thinking about a 5e5 head kit....

    Keep us posted!

I ordered a VRM (power scaling) kit to tame the amp for house use. It was missed when they packed the kit. One email later I got a response within 5 minutes that it will be shipped today. Great service. I'm just going to go ahead with standard wiring and add the VRM later.

Nice. Looks like you are building it on your dinning room table :)

Yes I am. Only problem is the cat wants to "help".

Listening to Don Felder, Billy Gibbons and Neil Young for inspiration while I tinker. (All Fender Deluxe players).

Apparently, there are photos in this thread?? I wonder why I can't see them.

We are finally back to recording my latest CD. I can't believe how good my 5E3 sounds recorded!! Guitar>cord>amp>Blue Spark mic. I hope you have as much fun as I have had with mine

Yes there's photos. Not sure why you can't see them.

I'm hoping I like mine as much as you like yours as well.:)

That's weird, because I can see photos in other threads. I must have something set wrong.
What speaker are you using? Enjoy! They are great amps that cover a lot of ground, because they're so touch sensitive. I've noticed it makes me much more conscious of what/how I'm playing.

If I dig into each thread, I can see the photos....weird! I see JJ's were sent with the kit. They're good sounding tubes, but Tung-Sols sound very different. Try both, because you will probably have a preference. The JJ's are very 6L6 sounding (think SRV). The Tung-Sols are more even sounding. Also, try 12AX7 and 12AY7 preamp tubes. I'm always switching back and forth, depending on what I'm looking for.

I'm posting the photobucket IMG links with the add photo. Let me try something here. I'll just post the IMG direct and see if that works better,

Progress...wired the power transformer and few other items. Just taking it slow and rechecking everything as I go.
