Try one of these out : -
Or This (listen from 1:30> for sound) : -
Thanks everyone but it isn’t a sitar tone I’m looking for. If I can get something passable I will get the sound from my Kronos somehow recorded.
yeah tricky one......
I could only recommend trying a lot of computer amp/pedal sims and/or modelers until you stumble on what you're after.
Many of those crappy modelers alleged to have Sitar presets.
Some of them even remotely sound like a Sitar.
Have you got any of that crap hanging around your ranch
Well, oddly enough I did stumble on it. It sounds like a bell brass reso electrified. But not too hot but it still needs more of the detuned overtones. I am certain I will not get what I want without some processing or multiple sympathetic strings.
Here is a guitar as mentioned above with the sympathetic strings that is really close. I could easily make this work.
You are free to try 432 Hz.
You can mimic a sitar on guitar with a few simple mods. Goldo/Rockinger even sell Tele sitar saddles which work amazingly well.
Have you tried Nashville tuning?
I don’t even know what it is.
Think of a 12 string and remove all the low strings from each course, keeping all (higher) octave strings. It sounds a bit mandolin-y.
Only 5-6 bucks if you wanna try.
Starting all over again is gonna be rough.
