You can`t go wrong with sparkle.
Nice catch on the 5126!
Suddenly, sleeping on the sofa for the next 2 weeks doesn't seem so bad, does it?
I've used that one before!
Do you mind if I try your idea on my wife ? Nothing I try seems to work.
Nice looking git.
Something that a single, homeless guy would look good with! Lol
It's easier to apologize than to ask permission.Nice guitar!
Beautiful guitar that I bet is going to sound great.
We’ll just stand here and watch...
Beautiful! I'm considering the gold version from a local CL ad. Do you mind if I ask how much you didn't tell your wife you spent?
New to this forum....I’m wondering about the rarity and common interest in this silver burst. I’ve recently read only 25 were made!?!? Crazy. I feel like a very lucky man and love the guitar but man,oh man, I wanna black & gold g520.
Now that's a silver sparkle! My Electromatic G5439 Silver Sparkle Jet is a good example, but it's got the 70's cheap bathroom tile silver sparkle. Still a really cool axe, but I wish it had the Gretsch Drum finish sparkle like yours.
(not my example, but might as well be)
Man, that is a beautiful guitar! Congratulations brother!
Congrats thunderbaas, that's a beautiful Gretsch!
I want the same !
Congratulations, of course !
PS : I pay myself for all my gear sur mes propres deniers, so my wife has nothing to say...
But it's me, OK ?
I have a 5129 that I treasure. It is an Anni with single-coil pickups. Plays and sounds as good as any Gretsch I own. While it was not the first Gretsch I owned it kindles the passion to collect them as it is so good.
Enjoy it and don't worry about the missus. Any woman that would divorce you over a guitar wasn't worth having in the first place - at least that's what I told my first wife. LOL
Hi rockymtnguitar, I don't mind tellin' In dollars it was about 660. Which is considering the prices on Reverb a verry decent price. What won me over is not especially the silver sparkle but the DeArmond pick ups. Still the sparkle looks great (and so far I've only seen it on foto's,gonna pick it up friday) As for the misses, she'll come around on this beauty. She allways does in the end, that's why she's still my wife
Agreed! I have always been a big fan of Imperials!
I have 2 of those. They were made in 2 different factories and I have one from each. You can tell the difference by which Bigsby is on it at a glance. The one you have the body is slightly smaller and thinner than a 5420 for example. Also the pickguards look the same if they are side by side but one will not fit on the other there is quite a difference in the cut and fit. You will LOVE those pickups. Don't even think about changing them unless you are just upgrading to TArmonds but once you crank them up I doubt you will.
Is dat nieuw? Is dat IVM met het virus?
