Used Electromatic at Guitar Center - no body binding? Photo of back of headstock is blurred so can't read manufacturing country or serial number. Tuners also look weird. Fret markers as well (unless that's just me). Looks like a fake...any thoughts?

Looks legitimate to me, I have a 5420 electro with the same humpblocks and tuners…did you look in the f hole for info?

The photos aren’t clear enough to see any binding details, but it looks like an early 5420 to me. Wider headstock, hump block fret markers, cheap plastic nut (like the original nut on my ‘12 5420), Blacktop Filtertrons all look proper.

Looks like an early version.

The binding used was all white, no multi layered with thin black strips.

Legit.

Haven't seen it in person yet, and it's a little pricey but was thinking of maybe grabbing it on a trade of old gear as a modder. Thanks!
Call the GC store that's listing it and request more info. My experience has been that they will answer questions, give you the serial number, even send additional (clearer) photos of used gear you are interested in. I suspect that the individual who responds to your request gets credit for the sale.

Thanks - going to the store on Saturday to pick up an amp, I'll give it a once over then. Appreciate the feedback!

I can see binding, and those tuners are stock for an older electromatic like that.
my guess is made in Korea.

all in all it looks really nice.
