I was on facebook yesterday, and this ad came up for a site called rbaitu.com. They are showing guitars for $69 bucks- all name brand, and some are guitars that go for thousands. It says try it from your home for 30 days, and if you don't like it, send it back. I didn't see anything about it hitting your account every month if you decide to keep it. It also has Guitar Center's logo at the top of the home page. Definitely sounds like one of those too- good- to- be- true deals. Check it out and see what you think. I'm very tempted to try it out and take one for the G-T team if it turns out to be BS...
Except idiots do fall for it.I definitely won't! Kinda funny though, the stuff scammers think folks will fall for.
People look at these sites and hope they are real, the attitude should be "Is that even remotely possible??"
There is no fairy godmother selling $1K guitars for $69, not anywhere in the world. If you got a $1K guitar for free, would you sell it for $69?
Do you think someone is throwing away hundreds of dollars with every sale because of their love of humanity?
The people who set up these sites are predators, they prey on honest people. 1000% selfishness.
These are not overstocks, they are not leftover NOS, they are not blemished, they are not stolen...because they are not real.
Jeff,
The site alone could be full of malware!
You really have to ask yourself here...who is the ''bait''...
I'd definitely let this one pass.
BIB.
69bux times????????The good news is that they are only stealing $69 from you, plus shipping and taxes. Sounds like a great deal. Fraud is bad but sometimes someone is so greedy and stupid they just might kinda deserve it.
A truly honest person wouldn't fall for that scam. You'd have to have some larceny in your heart to believe that you're getting that good of a deal. You can't fool an honest man.Do you think someone is throwing away hundreds of dollars with every sale because of their love of humanity?

Sadly, GC can't sue or even complain about copyright infringement. Many places in Asia don't care about our laws. You could always call Guitar Center to ask whether it's legit, given that the site uses GC's logo. But I'm sure it's a scam.
