I used to do a lot of photography.. and I do have a workflow.. even through my iphone..

just normal tweaks like, brightness, contrast, saturation, white balance.. its more like bringing to everyone what "I" see.. My rule is to get as much light/sunlight as I can so that I wont get blurry photos..

and click the shutter in the middle of your breathing when you are your most stable and still.

there are hard colors to photograph.. like Daphne Blue.. just cant get a consistent color on whatever lighting conditions..

I looked at the Z line but I still don't really know how to work the cameras I've had for a number of years now (I got the D600 in 2013? the D810 in 2015?) so I think I'm good with cameras for the long term foreseeable future. By-the-way - the D600 is a fantastic camera and should be widely available at a good price used. Don't worry about spots on the sensor. That Emperor pic was taken with it.

I bought that specifically for him so he can have a tele "like his dad".. I just hope he's right handed... BUT some things I noticed says otherwise!!! LOL

I play in front of him, and make him listen to sounds and also make sure I involve him whenever I play on stage and try to influence him.. kind of brainwashing him.. Monkey see, monkey do. LOL

Here he is checking My No.1, the big daddy telecaster...

BUT whenever I bring this out to practice, he points to "his" tweed case at the back and wants his tele to be opened instead..

Hey, there was a guy years back who played a righty Strat, lefty.

Good job, he'll be fine however he decides to pick it!

Thanks. I've done a lot of photography over the years just for fun.

Kinda like guitars. Better equipment helps, but, you know the rest.

My phone, an old hand-me-down from my daughter, takes poor photos, so I use an Olympus mirrorless camera for gear shots. I have a couple light stands with soft boxes for diffuse lighting.

A few weeks ago, I picked up a background support and a big roll of seamless background paper, but I'm on the fence about whether to use it for gear shots. The background of gear shots puts the gear in a personal context, which I think helps to build trust when an item is being displayed for sale. I'm always suspicious that a gear shot without background is a stock photo. I'll probably try the seamless background paper the next time I take a glamour shot of something I don't intend to sell.

I've played around with editing pics a little bit on my Stylo 4.

Nothing like using my camera, but I've always had a soft spot for B&W shots.

    I use my Lumix DMC-TZ70 :
My Samsung Galaxy A3/6 just can't compete with him, clearly... The TZ70 takes serious photographs , the A3/6 take "views".

    But it's me, OK ? :D

So basically- some can just point and shoot from a great camera phone, and some do in fact do a little editing. From the responses here it seems most pointers/shooters use iPhones then upload directly. Danggit, I was hoping to stick to Android (wouldn't have to set up an Apple account and all that again- haven't used anything Apple since iTunes for awhile maybe 15 years ago.).
For the record, this is a direct shot from my wife's Lonovo tablet:
And here is a shot with some editing on Photoshop in an attempt to get the orange (at least) close to what it looks like in real life. Everything else...guhh!

If I wasn't blowing my wad on Gretsch and gear, I'd be getting some really nice cameras. Right now, for the time being, it's a humble Nikon D3100 (wife's old camera), a Sony DSC-RX100 for hiking/field, the ol' Samsung S8, the ipad cam, and a Mavic Pro for those aerial shots of NGD lol :)

All those guitar porn pics of Betty get edited on Snapseed and/or Afterlight...

    Sony (also no edits):
