When I was being taken to hospital after wrecking my leg on a motorcycle, I asked the medical team if I'd be able to play the piano once the injury had healed. No problem at all, they said. Good, says me, cos I couldn't play one before.

They threatened to turn off the life support!

Get well soon, fella.

Get well soon Marlin. Hoping for full recovery. If you have a metal splint for your thumbs you should get the edged rounded off and see if you could use it to play a lap steel,slide or something. ;) Sorry for the bad joke. Get well you Marlin.

EEEK!

Get the doctor to set your wrist to improve golf accuracy!

Dude (or should I say The Dude?), it doesn't look like anyone has given you the official wrist setting prioritization list. It is as follows;

1. For better Gretsch playing;

2. For use with any other guitar;

3. Golf, darts, bowling, billiards and beer (these are all on equal par because one usually leads to another).

4. For waving one's arms while yelling at officials in any sport called "Football".

That's it, there are no other important uses for the wrist that science can come up with as far as I know :D

Listen to your doctors and don't try to rush the recovery process.

I've only just seen this thread.
Big hugs to you Marlin. It sounds like we're all lucky to still have you.
