I was wondering if you would do a review on this when you got it and was interested to hear your thoughts, this model is the reason I've been looking at the butts pick ups for my 6120SSL.

Thanks Tavo. Great review. Id much rather have a review by someone who knows about sound and construction than watch some guy (its almost always a guy) playing generic “guitar demo” licks.

Awesome review, great guitars, and for $3k+ they still don't even throw in a jack plate. :p

Great review! Someday I'd love to get one, along with one of your Blondeshell amps. Probably not for a while though!

That model was designed after the actual '59 Smoke right? TVJ did a video on the original "Smoke"... I assume the original was 2.75", I wonder why they made the repro 2.5"?

BTW, if you lived in Scottsdale, you'd be working for Gretsch by now LOL.

I saw this on IG first. I’m glad you decided to post here as well. Obviously not going by feel, but I’ve got to say both guitars really look and sound stellar. You’ve got a great family there!

It would sound better with the Detroit Casket instead of the Fluid Drive. :) :) As usual nice demo Tavo excellent explanations.

The Smoke neck is the best I own. Love it! I do wish they had gone with 6105 frets (preferably stainless like Setzer uses), but I get that the 6105 is a love-it-or-hate-it deal.
