Hello Illustrious GT Moderator Crew!

I’ve created a few threads asking for advice on advancing my limited knowledge of the instrument. I am sure there are others that have similar interest in maybe coming together to share suggestions and ideas. I do see that a Johnny Smith Approach sub-forum exists. Would it be possible to have a few sub-forums geared toward learning, perhaps with topics/titles generated by some of the more advanced players in our community?

Thanks for considering this.

Cheers,

~Jason

@Synchro spearheaded the sun forum for Johnny Smith because he is well versed in it, and in all honestly I should pay him for the time he has spent helping me with it.

If there are others well versed in different approaches that are good at explaining their chosen path an appropriate sub forum may work or just a general theory and practice approach forum.

I would suggest getting into the JS approach. I’m not a jazz person but this approach is very functional and from what I am seeing the basis for almost any music genre.

I took a peek in the digital sample for the JS book. Whoah Nelly! I guess I could leverage the limited bass clef reading skills I have but whew, looks, uhm, hard.
I am pondering buying it and pushing through. I’m just a bit intimidated right now.

My original suggestion still stands. Curious if @Synchro would consider this a value add to the community?
