    I recently procured a Streamliner G2262T with Broad’Tron pickups.

Are these pups Ceramic or Alnico?
There is literally nothing written about these so I’m going to assume they’re ceramic.

Based purely on the price-point build out of the Streamliner series, I would guess them to be ceramic, but I’ve been wrong before.

    Alnico. Great pickups, imo.

I wonder if Gretschbuckers are alnico. I think i shall disassemble one.

I got a Streamliner too. The Broadtrons are decent PUPS for sure. Not my speed, taste wise, but they do what they set out to do and they do it well. Thinking of going HILO-TRON for the neck...but that's just further evidence of a twisted mind.

I think Broadtrons may be the Gretschbuckers of days gone by.

According to Gretsch they were specifically designed for the Streamliners and were tweaked for this latest batch in 2019 (BT-2S). I think they are different.

I’ve never played anything with Gretschbuckers so I don’t really have a reference. I just know that with some tweaking the Broadtrons in my 2622 sound good to me.

Lot's of guys left the Gretschbuckers in their guitars too, i did not, i wanted Filtertron's and the buckers definitely did not sound like those. I don't have any real Streamliner experience, just speculating. I just took one of my Gretschbuckers apart and found a Alnico mag.

I played the broadtrons in my old man’s 2622. They definitely sound better than G’buckers. Like waaaaay better.

Didn't like the broadtron in mine and it was gone in short order. Too muddy for my liking.

My Streamliner 2655 has the Alnico V Broadtrons in it and I really like the sound of them. In fact they stack up quite nicely to the black face Filtertrons in my G5420.

Dunno, they're gone from my 242o. I didn't like them from day one - replaced with Vanson P90s.

there's definitely more clarity to the broadtron. It's not a big difference, but it is noticeable.
