Yum! Just found this really great combo......Tube Screamer base, then stacking the Fluid Drive on top of it. It’s hard to detect from the down n dirty vid, but I’m getting this incredible frequency inside frequency kinda thing happenin......almost like an incredibly subtle octaver underneath this super bubbly creamy dirt.......it feels alive. I’ve been sitting here just jamming and digging on this sound!

Can definitely hear and feel more lows and some highs. Always good to hear you play, tony.

Sounds great, Tony. Watching even your short clip made me want to grab a guitar and start hitting it like I mean it but my “side of beef” hands still won’t cooperate.

    A note to all:
Don’t take your ability to play for granted. It’s a sad and frustrating experience to suddenly lose an ability you’ve exercised by second nature for decades. Now go and play a lick for me!

    Nice demo.
Didn`t SRV stack two Tubescreamers to get his signature tone, too?

I like that sound, Tony! It's definitely thicker sounding, and the added frequency almost sounds to me like a subtle doubler. Very cool!

Don't know about SRV but that is what Trey Anastasio (Phish) has done for 30 years.

I was also gonna reply to that. Yes Trey has been using that method since the 90’s. The pedals were modded by Analogman and that’s the very reason I sent Analogman two of my SD1’s. It worked awesome when I was gigging. Sold one of them recently but stacking is where it’s at.

Hmmm, I'll have to try my MI Audio Crunch Box with the Fluid Drive.

I like to stack the Fluid Drive with my Dude (Dumble style). It makes it a little less modern sounding and adds a bit of rawness without adding much gain.

Question, are you guys stacking with the less drive first then the more drive 2nd? I’ve done it both ways but not getting great results with the more drive first

Yes. My lower gain is first. Second gain is dialed to taste.

I’ve always stacked ods. Forever. But I stumbled on something really special with a TS and the Fluid Drive(which I have traditionally been using at lower gain settings). Switching the FD over to the higher gain slot has really surprised me at how it excels there. It’s just KILLIN’!

So to be clear, is your FD after the Screamer?

Correct. Another cool thing about the Fluid Drive after the Screamer is that because the FD has a dedicated “bass” knob, you can dial some of the lows back IN that the TS usually takes away. So you get big FAT juicy lead tones.

    Cool and thanks.

That control should help set the big bass bottom end just right with my Crunch Box in front of it.

Love how @Tavo set the FD tone controls up.

Thank you for the info! So I had the FD post Mystery Brain and the Ubangi pre Brain so when I tried stacking the drives, (Ubangi into the FD) I wasn’t particularly digging it. Unless I bring the Ubangi drive way down and increase the drive of the FD.

Gonna switch up things and bring back the Analogman modded SD1 with the FD.
