So, you made basically single coils?

Yes, seems to be the case. Hum cancelling single coils.

I tried this with my Gretschbuckers. It improved the muddiness and raising the remaining pole pieces increased the highs. But in the end it didn’t improve things enough to keep them. I think your pickups start out way ahead of the old buckers.

You don't hear the hum if you don't stop playing.

If I worked in a music store I'd put that on a pin and wear it every day.

Removing the poles doesn’t really make it a single coil, but it probably does narrow the field. It also reduces the inductance.

I measured most of the component values on my 2420 yesterday (except the master tone), and found the pot values to be surprisingly low for humbuckers (even lower than a Strat with parallel loads considered).

Reducing the inductance (and thus the impedance) of the pickups really makes sense with the pickups so heavily loaded.

I wonder how hard it would be to wire the pickup coils in parallel instead of series?

Easy enough for switchable 4 conductor pickups.

    Are the Broad’trons 4 conductor?
