I’m generally not a flashy ornate kind of guy with anything I own. That is also true for guitar straps.

Having said that, I love the feel of quality leather in a guitar strap.

    Two examples

A beautiful Peter Schmidt vintage style for my Tele.

An Italia strap for my 5420, I have a black one for my Gibson

I really like the plain Levy’s cloth straps. I have a black and a brown one, I kind of want to get a dark army green one

This Walker and Williams strap is a newer favorite, and it looks great on the Tennessee Rose.

This Onori "cowless" strap is a long time favorite. Soooooo comfortable with the faux sheep skin pad.

This is by Walker & Williams. I think it compliments my G5420TG nicely.

I don't have a Lakota strap but might someday they are also great straps. I started braiding my own round straps because after having a couple that were a bit too expensive I decided if I was spending that kind of money I would rather make my own. The Walker and Willams koi was too expensive but I got fixated on it and bought it and actually really like it.

When I don't go basic black -- which I probably do most often -- this comfy little bit of flash is a great color match for all my guitars (except for the orange Gretsch)...

    Man some classy straps here!
I use a Lakota strap (Christmas present last December from the wife). Mainly to support a true cottage/in the USA-industry, but also for the super-softness and total simplicity of it. It hangs my sunburst Les Paul on me, but also looks great with my orange 5120.
    SUPER soft!

Is that really Ivy’s guitar, or a brilliant tribute?

I always wanted a strap with my initials, but practically all the people who do custom straps use the same Tandy leather stamps, which look nice, but they're all the same, and I wanted something just a little different. I found a guy on Etsy who laser-engraves graphics on straps, so I took my two favorite versions of my initials and had him make this one. For some reason, all the custom strap makers on Etsy seem to be in Canada, and they all use Levys straps as a result. Nothing wrong with that, my family moved here from the Great White North several generations before I was born, just odd. And it got here in two days, so nothing to complain about.

El Dorado makes great straps with superb leather work. There's a guy named Bill whom I would always see in their booth at guitar shows, and I would always buy a strap from him, because he always had something new I just had to have, and it was usually the only thing at the show I wanted to buy.

@r0de0, I did a double-take on your post, I have that strap, that guitar, that case, and that stool. Quite fond of them all.

I opted for the Gretsch Jeweled Silver Buckle Strap. I like the old fashioned style of it. 20200926_170239.jpg

They’re a little pricey but I had to have this orange Gretsch strap to go with my orange 6120TM.
