I love my leather cowboy hat, but now that I’ve sheared all my hair off it looks dumb.

Once it grows back I’ll wear it again.

Sure you don't want to see too much of my ugly mug. My felt hat, Old Faithful, has been with me for 31 years. I rescued it from the landfill at White Cliffs, NSW when I was working out that way. I'm sure some of you grey nomads have been there - White Cliffs that is, not the landfill.

As Monty Python pointed out, "people aren't wearing enough hats..."

I know.. but 10 ++ years it shows how durable and good quality hats are/were ... Im sure it says something about me also but I will side step that..... I shower..... daily .....sometimes twice a daily .... and wash my hair ....really ...
My good hats ... one of which is creeping into a daily, lol

Muleskinnner. The 2 Everyday hats implies your dayjob is “Paintball Wizard.”
Else you live near a lot of carrier pigeons.

The first one is a "stage only" hat, the second hasn't been on stage yet, the third one is an all-purpose-cap. There are some more flatcaps and two summer-hats, but I don't have pictures of these on my phone.

I have a lot of hats. Flat (paddy) hats, fedoras, campaign hat, chef's hat, Stetson and straw western cowboy hats, and for cold weather, Irish tweed bucket hat, watch caps (incorrectly called beanies), toques,, and mad trapper hats. I still have a fatigue hat and a "Go to Hell" hat from the service. There's a beret around somewhere.

I wear hats to keep the sun off of me. With the blood pressure meds I burn quickly, so, the broad brims help a lot. They also keep my bald spot from burning.

I wear hats to keep the sun out of my eyes when driving. Baseball/trucker hats with the brim folded in a V are perfect for driving into the setting sun.

In the winter, I wear them to keep warm. Living were it can get down to -30F, you need to know how to stay warm. Keep your extremities warm and you'll stay warm. Good mukluk boot, good gloves (I still have milspec gloves from the USAF fifty years later---they're warm and wear like iron), and a good winter hat. They say 50% of your body heat goes to your head. Knit caps just let the wind blow thru them. I find it odd that people wear them year around (sorry, Mike Nesmith). Mad trapper or trooper hats, worn by the RCMP when it's too cold for a campaign hat, is one of the best I've ever found for winter. When it's below zero, you really don't need to be concerned with fashion---just survival.

I still wonder whatever happened to my British pith helmet or my 1930's Navy Donald Duck hat.

I find this post offensive. This material stridently seeks to marginalize and ostracize non-dancers like myself.

Great thread! Here’s a few of mine that are in the rotation. The Hanna patchwork linen on the bottom left gets the most wear. Love that hat.
