Just wrote an article on the above but the text seems to have disappeared! It's an age thing!
What I tried to say was that I have just frightened myself by counting up the guitars I've owned over the last 60 years. These are the ones I've settled on, even though I've had a lot of high end expensive instruments over the years but these give me the sound and playability I need.
I'm also into memorabilia and would like to hear of any stuff you've collected over time.
The framed picture has a collection of signatures from people I've met along the way including
Paul Jones ( The Manfreds)
John Williams ( classical guitarist)
Gretsch G6120 Nashville (2000)
Fender Stratocaster uprated pickups and refinished Fiesta Red for my Shadows band
Tanglewood TSR-3 Michael Sandon masterbuilt
Dean BW-7 Backwoods 5 string banjo
Donner DUT-3 ukulele (it is what it is, but does me!)
OMG...there's not enough room on the comment box for me...that's a little embarrassing.
"Life's short...buy the guitar" is my motto!

I can never get the energy to open all the cases and get a group photo. Probably because my mind knows that if i see them all i will consider myself crazy and have to sell quite a bit off. Although the collection has thinned out over the years.
Sorry in advance.

I have at least 85 more assorted guitars, basses, and lap steels. These are just my current Gretsches.
Wow. My collection is not quite that well endow-, err, I don't have quite that many guitars, but have the typical bases covered. Here are a few excerpts, my 12-strings and my home builts, yeah, I am kind of partial to natural wood grains.
SHOW ME YOURS AND I'LL SHOW YOU MINE!
OK. Here's (once again) my (Lefty) guitar gallery...
Think that there will be 4 more to come - so another garden bench row :
- 1 is on order (delivery scheduled next September, at my local shop )
- 2 are in refinishing-modding (for years ! I'll have to "shake" again my Luthier pal to urge him... ).
- 1 is planned to be built (on a custom-amp = custom-guitar deal basis, late 2021-early 2022 I think ).
The total will reach a mere 22 instruments - my initial limit was 10 maximum, then 15 maximorum, then 20 ultimatum, then... OK : for some of you, it's 50, then 60, then 100, so I'm very very reasonable...
Celebrating (?) just over a year with no changes in the lineup.
You should celebrate by buying something.
@GAMBLER1234, I counted 13 guitars. Quick, I think you need to go out there and get another one, before your luck changes!
Thank you guys. You have made me so happy!
I've been able to show your pictures to her ladyship and tell her that I am really quite normal!
I'm only jealous that you can keep all your guitars, where as though I've owned, played and gigged some great and now collectable guitars, the rule in this house is " one in, one out!"
Well, due to your previous message, I wonder if I should demonstrate that there are reasonable and still happy guitar players too among the forumers
My 2 Gretsch, still missing a hollow body but I have been resisting to gas for more than 2 years now.
The nylon guitar on the right is my son's and is no longer here. The Washburn is the oldest one, I have it since early 90s.
My old SG Firebrand, that's when the head broke that the guitar collection craze started.
Last but not least, the MIM Telecaster Baja classic player.
Then complete guitar collection its only 5 and that's fine with me.
And only one amp.
Actually I started getting a little embarrassed about so many pics in one post so here's the rest of them.
Only 5 guitar... But furthermore Only ONE amp ? Are you serious, @j.s.c ?
Well OK : AFAIK you live in Paris, in a flat, where any small bit of space costs an arm and a leg au sens figuré comme au sens propre, so I understand why...
Thank you much.
