Hi, have recently purchased my first Gretsch a G5235 Pro Jet - can anyone suggest what settings work best as I want to get the set up right, I use Ernie Ball Slinky 10 -46.

Those strings will work just fine.

Hi Paul, when you say setup, do you mean pickup heights etc...?

Personally I just adjust stuff until the guitar feels and sounds right, yep very untechnical

However one thing that is sure to help keep tuning more stable is to graphite the nut. You can easily do this even if new strings have been put on. Just unwind each string in turn until it can be eased out of the nut groove and run a thin piece of pencil graphite in the slot. It's a cheap and easy way to stop your strings from snagging in the nut slots

    Action height?

I have put the Ernie Ball Slikys on the guitar and they really work well and have set the pick up heights which is good and the intonation is fine - anyone know what the recommended setting is for the action - it seems ok with no string buzzing.
