I am curious if anyone leaves the little piece of protective rubber that is on the end of the Bigsby arms when you purchase a new guitar. I still have all of mine on the arms, but I don't really like how it looks.

I leave mine on because I have sweaty hands and it helps me keep a grip on the handle.
    Let the condom jokes begin.....

They’re on when the guitar is sold to protect them for shipping.
Once it’s yours, it goes in the trash.
Look at any picture of any guitar player with a Bigsby, and you won’t see it.

of course, if someone likes it, they can keep it.

I have no idea... (30 seconds later) well they're still on!

Maybe they protect the top when the Bigsby is folded and the guitar sits in the case...?

It's your guitar. Leave it on, or take it of--- it's up to you.
I'd say that the majority of folks remove them. YMMV.

Mine was oversized and didn’t even fit well it’s just shipping protection. Obviously I took mine off.

I toss the loose- fitting black ones and keep the tighter- fitting clear ones.

My 5120 never had one and the 5622 does and I never saw a need to take it off.

I think your practice is consistent with the current suggestions from the healthcare experts... good job! :p:D

As for myself, I am in the same camp as @audept . They are functional for me-- especially the heavier clear ones that come shipped on Bigsby USA tailpieces.
