To help out somebody unloading gear for medical expenses I picked up a set of these for a fair price. Now I need help deciding what to do with them. I’m happy with the TV Classics and Blacktops in my Gretches.
    I don’t own a p90 equipped guitar.
    Cantidates are:
    Epi Broadway w stock HBs
    Epi Expkore evstock HBs
HH Strat pickguard I could put back in a partscaster.
1980 Carvin DC 100, all maple, ebony board, has the stock 22 poles in it.
    Your thoughts?

I can't decide for you, but maybe consider just using them either in the neck or bridge position?

You don't own a guitar with P90's What in the world is wrong with you? :) I think P90's in an Epi Broadway would be great!! I love my Buddha P90 Gibson Clones in my modded Hagstrom HJ800 and Gibson P90's in my Hagstrom Viking Tremar Deluxe. No P90's you are mising some real magic. FOR SOME REASON YOU HAVE TO CLICK ON THE PICS BELOW TO GET THEM TO OPEN

If you put them in your Broadway, you'll be 2/3rds of the way to a Zephyr Blues Deluxe. The Broadway is an underrated classic & I think P90s will give you some tonal mojo to take it from a jazz box to a more versatile all around blues/rock/rockabilly guitar.

    The Broadway it is!
Sounds mean as hell. Need to tame these just a bit. I probably have em a bit too high.
They do get sweeter as you roll off the vol.

I like the style too. Two pups, volume and tone for each, and a three way switch. I guess the switch would cover each pickup either separately or combined.

    No bling.

Something like this has had me salivating for a looong time.

Not quite no bling. Plus I forgot to put the pickguard back on, which is maybe a cleaner look.

Your pick would have been mine as well. Hopefully a black pickguard?

The original E guard. It’s a dark tortoise, looks black in this pic tho.

So... bottom line... how close to a real P90 do they sound?

Very much so IMO. I used to own a 51’ ES125 with the original one P90 in the neck. Sounds very similar. Very dynamic, good growl when laid into.

I just sold a loaded body with Rose Robustas too--great pickups, steal of a price. Sure, I waited like 4 months for them, but worth it. Decided first hand Strats are done to death and not for me, so sold it and got a Streamliner instead :)
