I first heard him on the Ant and the Aardvark as the voice of the aardvark except that Jackie never turned up on the actual cartoons. It was an imitator who to me sounded just like him. Jackie went to the first recording and dropped out because he didn’t feel that he could do it properly.

RIP to one of the greats.
Ant and the Aardvark....aardvark sounds just like Bernie Sanders to me, and if you twist it a little the ant sounds like Ted Cruz. I can never see it again without thinking about that and busting out laughing.

One of the old school guys from the Borscht Belt Catskill circuit. Used to see him on Ed Sullivan's show. End of an era. RIP Jackie.

I remember when he told Ed Sullivan, "I've got a finger for you too."

I miss Jackie and all of the the old-school comics who could be funny without being dirty. I also miss a few who were dirty but could be funny without being so. Most of today's comics are as funny as a broken crutch.
    RIP Jackie

People who modify stuff, houses, cars, guitars, whatever, always remind me of Jackie Mason's routine about how certain people have remodeled their homes. "This is the kitchen, used to be a bathroom, this is a bedroom, used to be the garage" etc etc...

Very funny man with a unique spin. I took my Grandmother for her 75th birthday, he was in the remodeling routine, and she laughed so hard, her teeth ended up in the woman's lap next to me. Fortunately the woman next to me was good spirited, and laughed till her sides hurt. I don't know if it was Jackie's routine, the teeth incident, or the combination of both. What a great memory, and a great man!
