    That’s a shame.

Sad to see them both go.
Mac was a really funny guy as evidenced on interview shows like Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show.

Losing these former stars makes me feel old.....

    Oh yeah.....
I AM old! That ‘splains it!

I think being willing to appear as herself in a an episode of Family Guy gave me more respect for Helen Reddy. Mac was awesome. RIP you two.

I met Mac Davis on several occasions and his wife Lise was a regular customer of ours back in LA in the mid-80's. Nicest couple you'd ever want to meet. I'm truly sorry to hear of his passing. RIP Mac.

This was a sad day for us Melbournians - losing yet another of our home-grown entertainers - singers, actors and so on...

I was only 6 or 7 here in Oz when Helen Reddy made it big but she certainly had her fans this side of the Pacific too.

Being a child of the 70s and 80s, it seems every few weeks we’re losing another talent - all the people we looked up to who were maybe 20 years older than ourselves, give or take.

Proof we need to ‘smell the roses’ each day and get to a gig or two as soon as Covid restrictions ease?

Mac could do it all. Write, sing and an actor.

At 65 years of age, I have few complaints. My eyesight is still better than average, but not as good as it used to be. But the worst thing is seeing other around you age and die. Every time that happens, the world gets a bit emptier and someone that was part of your life, even if only as an entertainer you saw on TV, is no longer available.

When Chet Atkins passed away, I literally cried. Without Glenn Frey, the Eagles aren’t the Eagles. Chicago changed forever with the death of Terry Kath. I miss Johnny Carson to this day. When I was a child, he was the reason I wanted to stay up late.

There are a lot of artists like Mac Davis; people that played a role in our memories, had their time in the sun, and spent the rest of their lives enjoying the well earned fruits of their labor. Sadly, they are frequently forgotten in the mainstream, but every time we lose one of these people, the world gets a little bit emptier.

RIP Mac Davis and Helen Reddy. I loved your work (both of you).

BTW AC/DC's "original members" will reportedly be reuniting to record a new album. If they're really getting Malcolm Young and Bon Scott out of "retirement", it'll be one heck of an album. (hand on forehead)

How sad, how ironic that one of Helen Reddy's big hits was "I Believe in Music" was written by Mac Davis. That was one of my first records I purchased, it was $0.47

    They will both be missed.

RIP to both of you, thanks for touching our lives in more ways than I can mention.

Yes that would be a feat indeed! Maybe Something for Halloween?

More seriously (2017) was a very sad year losing both Malcom Young and Brother George (Easybeats et al) within 3 weeks.

Aussie has quite a few other local musos in the last year your or two - some are departing in their 60s and many/most dont make 80!

Being 54 it does me make stop and think. But yes see the ‘restored’ bands while you can - accepting they won’t have all the originals?
