I added a clear guard to my 5420T.
I found one on eBay for cheap.

I bought the custom reverse image decals on etsy (they stick underneath).

 

Love my 5420 with clear pickguard.
Edit: Made the bracket a bit shorter tho, cause it hit the pup rings and made a rattling sound at certain frequencies. So the bracket on the 5420 causes pup ring rattle instead of bridge rattle The stock pickguard uses the same bracket, so if you have a rattling sound on the stock guitar, be sure to check that before investing in a new nut or bridge

Love clear pickguards... I have one on my 5120.. I’ve had a few clear guards over the years.

I had one that was on my ‘56 6120. Because it was old and used, it had become scratchy and and cloudy. I didn’t like it, so I took it off and put it with the fixed arm Bigsby that was also on that guitar. I kept scraping my knuckles on the fixed handle.
