So I have an old Dumble combo with a 1x12 EV speaker in it.

Today I was working on a solo for a modern country artist and decided to give it a try. It's a great sounding amp but not the amp I use the most or even like the most. I didn't pay a million dollars for this one. I got it in trade for about $5000 of work about 15 years ago. I was never going to see a penny so I agreed to take the amp as payment.

Anyway, this was the first pass at the part so the playing isn't all that great and I used an iPhone but it gives you an idea. There's no FX or any eq or anything here. I can upload it that way later if people are interested.

    * The guitar is an old Fender Broadcaster, which is like a Telecaster.
** Yes, that is Ace Frehley's license plate. The late great Ed Roman sent it to me on my birthday one year a long time ago.

I've posted photos of it here before. When I record generally it's way over on the other side of my space. The camera is an iPhone.

I agree with you but this is a modern country (think dance music with a fiddle and maybe a Telecaster). It pays the bills.

Very cool! a little bit there at the beginning kind of reminds me of a riff in Renegade by Styx. I am not sure exactly what an actual Dumble sounds like in person, but I have one of the Barber Compact Burn Units that is supposed to be inspired by that, but also has some Tweedy/Blackface voicings in there too.

Ah yes. The old Dumble and a Broadcaster. Sounds great, by the way.

  14. Was surprised listening, then reading down: Sounds entirely not country.
But then, everything is “country” these days, I suppose…

Does your amp have a Dumble Door? :D

Sounds great, I can hear the modern country vibe in there and would be interested to hear the track when it's done.
