    R.I.P. Mr. Frayne.

I remember my brother and I used to crank up the stereo in the car waiting for my Mom and Dad to get out of the store. Hot Rod Lincoln was on, when they came out of the store. My Dad knew all the words. We said cool Dad, you like Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen. He said who??? No I was singing the song by Charlie Ryan.

We never knew that so many songs from Mom and Dad's era could be so cool.

Love the story and I love love love those lyrics.

“Took a corner, sideswiped a truck
Crossed my fingers just for luck
My fenders was click’n the guard rail posts
The guy beside me was white as a ghost”

My late teenage years I was drag racing for money on the strip and the street

As for playing Hot Rod Lincoln, it took a loooooong time to get that Kirchen run down. It still is not as fast or as clean as I would like.

"Got eight cylinders and uses ‘em all, with an overdrive that just won’t stall." At 10 years old I didn’t know what any of that meant.
