Sorry I’m late to the gig. Congrats on the new g5420! Can’t wait to see it.

I clicked that link, and in addition to the beautiful guitar it takes you to, a sweepstakes window opened up- Gretsch is giving away a G5622 and a G5622T. Just a quick PSA- enter to win, y'all!

I found a YouTube video where a pretty Spanish I think young lady shows the guitar.

    G'day Pete

Not sure what the TG-OS 50S LTD means but there's 100's of members here who own and love G5420's.
I've played a few myself and have never seen one I didn't like :D

Exactly what I noticed as well!
Same headstock shape as my 2012 build 5420.

I also just noticed it has the “retro” hump-block inlays of the original 5420’s too.

I guess that makes my “vintage” 5420 more of a classic. :D

They are really great guitars, I've been eyeballing the black model for some time. Traded up a few years ago my original one to get a vintage Country Gent, but that itch for another 5420 won't go away....somebody help me! G.A.S.

I know exactly what you mean! I infected a buddy with the Gretsch disease; he now owns four (!) 5420’s, a 5410 Tri Five, and a G5260 baritone.

So far I’m satisfied with my G5420 and G5245 Double Jet, but those 5410’s are calling with their siren song……

Hi, I’m on my second Gretsch, great guitars but....those strap buttons are totally useless. Surely I can’t have been unlucky twice. They work lose, the threads strip.
So really think you made a good move replacing yours, I shall have to do the same sooner than later.
    Cheers

I got to hold and strum the exact same guitar as mine in a guitar shop yesterday, love the neck and short scale. It sounds nice acoustically, it looks awesome :)

I will be back to my sisters place tomorrow night for the unboxing.

I will definitely be putting up some photos, hopefully in the next few days. :)

I played one a few months ago at GC Vegas, it played fine and looks very nice. The only reason it didn’t go home with me was I found an Aspen green one cheaper with a case and then up graded it for a bit less money.

IMG_20200610_141507.jpg Great guitars. I have had mine since December 2019 and love it. I dropped in some Gretsch Filtertrons that I picked up used for $1oo. New pickguard from a member of this site, and good to go.
