Adrian Smith and Richie Kotzen have been friends for a while. They recorded an album together right before the unmentionable. Postponed the tour and release. Finally put it out the other month. These videos were recorded while they’re both on different continents and then mixed together.

His solo work far surpasses his Dire Straits output. The man's one of the best living writers/ performers out there.

For me Jason Isbell is just killing it. Passion, subjects that matter, and great playing and sound.
From his latest album "Reunions", Guitar solo at about 3:00:

Courtney Barnett's album "Tell Me How You Really Feel" is an awesome album. I do a cover of this song periodically at open mic, both solo or as a duo.

And The Struts are just friggin' awesome old school rock. Saw them live last summer (they did a couple of gigs at drive in theaters due to Covid) and they were fantastic. My husband said that their lead singer was meant to be a frontman his whole life, he was incredible. Their debut album "Everybody Wants" is excellent and "Young and Dangerous" is fantastic.

Video clip I shot of the same song:

A French band called ROZEDALE has just released the first song of their upcoming 3rd album. A very talented couple, singer Amandyn Roses and guitarist Charlie Fabert are the heart of Rozedale.

Ya, it's fantastic. 2nd to The Odyssey for me! I can never understand how they're so underrated with the level of musicianship shown by all in that band... not to mention some of the best symphonic / orchestrated work I've heard in rock or metal.

Here's a master class in musicianship, recorded 5 years ago. Yep, it's a whole show, and I bet if you start you'll watch the whole thing.

I could do this all day - there is TONS of good recent rock out there, and that's not even counting all the great metal still being produced.
