In the purely cosmetic department, which P-90 look do you prefer for an Orange 6120?

If anyone has gone with a straight P-90/T-90 layout on their Gretsch hollowbody, please share the tone results too.

Thanks for participating! Oh, and excuse the very rough photo doctoring! 6120 w P-90s.png

Black, mostly because most cream covers are gawdawfull repros of a vintage '50s cover, meaning either too yellow, or too red.
If you want to do cream right get some white ones and colour them yourself.

I saw them in gold- and nickel-finishes. This would look better by far.

I like the black. It seems to bring out the orange by setting it off. The cream, to my eyes, particularly with the gold hardware, just sort of gives a washed-out look to the whole guitar.

I gotta say....I dig those cream ones in the mock up, but I've always been a sucker for that color cover.

I know what you mean. It's the same with "mint" pickguards. I like the look, but it's ironic that a demand has sprung up for a look that was originally caused by a layer of white plastic that thinned out too much over a black layer.

I voted cream, with the caveat that you match the pickguard to the covers, and you're not using Filter rings. Black if everything else must stay the same.

I'm in for the black. I just think it looks right with the scheme that the orange body and dark fretboard (if not totally black) already make.

Now if there was a maple fretboard, I might go with the cream, but that's a whole different conversation.

I voted cream.. I have cream P90s on my LP Goldtop. But I think it depends what finish the guitar is in. Black P90s look good on LP Juniors..

I prefer black, but, the cream does go with the pick guard.

i prefer all gold to not exist on a gretsch guitar, neverrr neverrrrrrr. Unless you are Poison Ivy, then all is forgiven.

I think cream looks OK, but I prefer black. Now, normally, though orange is my favorite color, I find the orange-black combination -- in anything -- too Halloween-y, but in this instance, I think it looks good. There's an exception to every rule.

Black is a great contrast to all the other colors for that guitar.

Orange, gold, black - what's not to love?!
