My son's favorite is pineapple / ham. Not my favorite, but it's a good pizza.
Although I wouldn't order it in a real italian restaurant (you'd get crucified for ordering fruits on your pizza!), I like the taste of feta and cheese with pineapple. So I'm in the "sometimes"-camp, because I love my life and wouldn't want it to end in an italian restaurant before my time has come.
The battle rages supreme in our house. It really could be indicative of a geographical split. Son in law who lives with us is a professional culinary school trained chef from the New York area and rants on every time we order Hawaiian Pizza. We live on the Pacific Coast which is about as close as you can get to Hawaii without being wet......
I’ve eaten one in Vancouver long time ago without knowing it (I didn’t check on the menu what “Springtime Pizza” was) and I didn’t like it, but just because I don’t like pineapple at all.
I live in Florence and I’m pretty sure that on some tourist traps you could have something like that, but on most parts of Italy (especially on the south) it doesn’t really matter if you like it or not, ‘cause nobody would cook you any.
The Hawaiian Pizza is a classic Canadian pizza.
It was the only pizza I would eat between ages 6 and 10. After that it was shrimp pizza for a short time, and taco pizza if I was at the Pizza Hut in Grand Forks or Fargo.
P on P?
Just say NO! LOL but serious.
For me, nope.
For you, whatever floats your boat.
Sometimes. I don’t see it as either the sacrilege or the signal of virtue that the Internet makes it out to be. It only becomes an issue when someone uses too much or it’s too wet and the crust gets soggy.
Put whatever you want on your pizza, I don't care...
I'll eat pineapple on a pie, black olives too!
I don’t like pineapple, also not on pizza. But I don’t mind others having pineapple on pizza. Go ahead if you like it. Maybe not done in Italy, but I’m Dutch. I don’t have taste. I also put chocolate on bread. So I voted sometimes.
Hawaiian is the number one ordered pizza in my house, followed by BBQ chicken so to me it is a definite yes.
Doesn't bother me. I generally prefer not to have sweets in my savory food but Pineapple is probably my favorite sweet ingredient for savory food. One of my favorite dishes is Brussel sprouts, bacon, Pineapple, whole garlic cloves, soy sauce all roasted.
...digusting !!! Part of my family is italian...
I love Pineapple and I love pizza, just not together! I order my favorite local pizza (The Supreme) with NO pineapple or Bell Pepper but EXTRA anchovies!
Hawaiian Pizza was invented in Canada. Go figure.
The consensus seems to be running 50/50.
I'm beginning to seriously wonder about half of you guys.
Years ago I had a McDonalds Fiji burger while on holidays in (you guessed it) Fiji. It came with pineapple rings on top of the meat patty and extra pineapple on the side just in case........
A good pizza stands on its own, with out any "embellishments" like Pineapple, Barbecue Chicken, etc.
I definitely put this in the “who gives a crap?” file.
I like pineapple on my pizza sometimes. Sometimes I don’t. I also like anchovies on my pizzas.
I dislike olives, but some folks love them.
What other people do with their pie is of no concern to me.
I would only use a pineapple as a WEAPON.
I LOVE ... LOVE ham.. but will not touch it if it has that on it.
and a big NO on pizza...
My wife opens a can every time we have pizza, LOL
