LP Customs are just droolworthy. They look so good that, if it doesn't sound good, no way we blame that guitar. lol. I am loving mine, but, I also haven't had it full week yet. I got it because I thought it would be a great option to my Tele while having a lot in common with it. I am pretty certain it won't bump the Tele to #2 status. ...but it could easily share #1 status.

Thanks! It is very striking. More so in person than in the pictures!

Honestly a great question with a terrible answer. lol. I got this guitar because of just how much it shares with the Tele feature wise. At the moment, I swear there is not a neck in the world as much as I like the Ultra Tele neck. ...but, I can see this becoming more of an option guitar rather than relegated to #2 or backup status. I really wanted to get a guitar that I could pick up and not worry that it isn't the Tele. There is a good chance this one grows to that.

I bring it up because Gibson was covering the cost of your setup at one time. They were coming from the factory with fairly high actions etc. and I found myself setting up a bunch of friends' LPs and SGs and then a local dealer told me that Gibson intentionally wasn't setting them up optimally because setups are very personal. I think you had a choice of a couple of luthiers in my town.

I don't know if that's the case any more, but at one time it certainly was.

Oh - like others, I love that color.

Nice! Do I maybe see a bit of "natural" on the sides/back? If so that's just perfect on the aesthetic front for my tastes.

    Congrats!

Thanks much! Really enjoying it. Like any guitar I get, for the first 30 minutes of owning, I worry I've made a mistake. ...but then I find what it wants. ...and then the relationship begins. :)

Congrats! I really like that model and color. I like the neck relief on the back, I think that's one of the few models with that cutaway.

Thank you! Once it's setup, I'm sure I'll absolutely love it.

That was an attractive feature to me too. True there aren't many models that come with it. The one that this one "came from" I think also had it. I loved the contoured heel on the Fender Ultra so much, this really was attractive.

Yes sir! I too have a weakness for Les Pauls, I think there are 8 of them living at my house.

whoa! I don't have 8 total guitars. Lol. That's a lot of Les Pauls!

I've seen some STUNNING gold tops. I'd love to see a "black back" gold top with p90s. :)

Play lots of them and pay very close attention to build quality, finish round the neck joints etc. Gibson has terrible quality control and you will find quite a gap on quality from one LP to another. It took me two years to find a Les Paul I liked when I bought my last standard years back.
