I call her Trigger, she's kinda ragged but right, took a big hit on the treble bout that i have to repair (case is also damaged in the same spot and has no handle...hmm), standard shrunk up pickguard but it let go instead of cracking the top, will need a neck reset soon. Untouched, original! No hack repairs at all.
I'm super happy, my Sigma DM18 and now this within a month of each other, Martin heaven for me! 20211016_133339.jpg 20211016_133321.jpg

I'm doing my usual research and planning before i start any repairs, it may take me a while:rolleyes:
I may not try the neck reset on this one myself, I've done some Harmony's and Kays but might have to get a pro on this one. Its so cool that nobody's done any home repairs though, no bridge shaving, no big grooves cut into the fine ebony bridge, the frets are in great shape, could use a light crown and polish..... She's a good'un
Oh yeah, the intonation is spot on, I've heard this can be an issue on guitars from this era.

You know, i knew my Sigma D18 was great when i got it, and was comparing it ( by memory) to actual Nazareth Martins I've owned in the past, well, now that i have it in the same room with a real D28 i can honestly say, it is a 100% bonafied Martin, no corners cut, all craftsmanship is up to par, tone and playability are right there with the Naz Martin, i can see why they stopped making the Sigma's in Japan, maybe just a little too good, why would you want to compete with yourself?
