This happened a few days ago. I was going to sell my electric drum kit on Craigslist and saw a listing...”will trade guitar for electric drum kit.” Sounds like my kind of deal! It went down without a hitch. The guy turned out to be a member of our group! Now I’m the proud owner of a grote jazz guitar! It’s a cool little guit. Well built and fun to play. I hope he’s enjoying the drum kit as much as I am this guitar

Sadly, about 50 years ago, I should have bought a Gibson ES-125 for about $60 CDN, which was much like yours. I didn't because I thought I could never play "Sunshine of Your Love" on that (I was young:oops:).

Congrats, very nice. I had been eyeing the Epiphone ‘66 Century a while ago, but they seem to have been discontinued. This is a nice and cheaper alternative.

I had a ‘58 es 125t that i really liked but let it go, like so many others. Your new guitar makes me wish i hadnt. This looks like a great guitar to have lying around. This would be a living room grab it and noodle guitar for me. Lightweight. Loud enough. Nice acoustic tone? What do we think of Grote? The name kind of doesn't do them any favours!

    It's a small world.
Congratulations on your new guitar (and congratulations to the new owner of the electric drum kit).

That’s exactly what I’m using it for. It’s a perfect guitar to just have in the living room on a stand to tinker with whenever the mood hits. It’s shockingly good. It sounds great, the frets are nice. All the hype they get from YouTube video reviews are well deserved.

So glad you enjoy the Grote! We're getting a kick (yikes, no pun intended!) out of the drum kit, so thanks again for the trade. It was a pleasure getting to meet a forum member IRL, too.

If anyone else is considering jumping on the Grote train, my brother picked up one of their "club" style basses a bit ago. He has no complaints - especially considering the $200 price point.

These are nice guitars. I was attracted by the appearance but once I played it I was sold Reluctantly I sold mine only because I am trying to downsize my collection..."trying" being the operative word.
